At St Silas’ we believe that Mathematics should be fun and rewarding for all our children. As such we endeavour to make our work in Mathematics engaging and inspirational for all our learners.
We use a range of approaches and resources to aid our children’s conceptual understanding. As a result we are seeing a steady growth in confidence in all our learners, especially in the areas of problem solving and reasoning.
Our curriculum is mapped by the White Rose scheme of work and supplemented with resources from several other schemes in order to best meet the needs of our learners. We ensure that we place development of good conceptual understanding, problem solving and reasoning at the heart of its work, which means that it fits best with our vision for Mathematics.
